A common question asked about IDD Therapy is what makes it different from old fashioned traction.
In this video, Stephen Small explains how.
Old fashioned traction was very imprecise. Many spine issues such as a herniated disc are found at specific levels, such as L5-S1 or L4-L5. Whilst many disc bulges are not painful, where symptoms are concurrent with a confirmed spinal pathology at a level, IDD Therapy enables practitioners to treat the affected segment in a way that traditional traction simply never could.
One aspect of this is to apply the science of vector forces and thus alter the angle at which a force is applied to focus force at specific levels. Thus IDD Therapy is able to decompress the spine, but at specific targeted levels.
